Overview
The role involves executing operational data management for the national data ecosystem and UNHCR's registration systems, managing data storage and processing, and designing data integration processes.
Tasks Summary
- Execute general operational data management of the national data ecosystem (Fabric) and data from UNHCR Preparing Registration and Identity Management Systems (PRIMES) tools.
- Management of UNHCR Brazil data in the UNHCR Raw Internal Data Library (RIDL), ensuring adhesion of UNHCR data storage and curation principles, including documentation.
- Storage and processing of administrative records, registration and case management data, surveys and other secondary data, ensuring the processing of any data necessary to achieve the priorities of the operation and ensuring timely and accurate data availability for analytical and operational use.
- Design, develop, and maintain Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes and data pipelines that integrate multiple data sources into centralized systems.
- Promote technical and innovative solutions to improve data processes and provide the necessary quality assurance and technical support for statistical and data analysis.
- Design and maintain reporting platforms for results indicators monitoring.
- Collaborate with Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) activities to align data systems with performance indicators and reporting requirements.
- Provide training, as necessary, to UNHCR staff as well as staff-members of implementing partners in relevant aspects of data management.
- May be required to support registration activities including Profile Global Registration System (proGres) technical support and on-site assistance.
Experience Requirements
- 7 years of relevant work experience.
- Essential: Strong experience with ETL tools - design and build pipelines.
- Proficient in data manipulation languages - Clean, transform, and enrich data.
- Experience with Application Programming Interfaces APIs and web services.
- Knowledge of data modelling and database management.
- Understanding of data lifecycle and governance principles, ensuring accuracy, validation, and consistency of data.
- Understanding of different data collection methodologies.
- Experience working with partners, including host and donor Governments, humanitarian and development partners.
- Experience working with cloud data platforms.
- Knowledge of programming languages, such as Python and SQL.
- Desirable: Knowledge of UNHCR PRIMES tools.
- Experience with data management in developmental or humanitarian contexts.
- Understanding of the principles and concepts of international protection and UNHCR.
- Understanding of civil registration and other national population registration systems.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric.
