Consultant on Enforcing ESCWA’s trade simulators for Saudi Arabia

Overview

Support the development and strengthening of interconnected trade analysis tools by contributing to extending trade negotiation and simulation tools.

Tasks Summary

• Contribute to the development of an up to date new version of the tariffs monitoring tool.
• Extend the bilateral trade monitoring toolkit to new partners and to include additional indicators.
• Refine and improve the generation of automatic briefs from running the new GETSI Saudi Arabia.
• Prepares methodological notes, user guides, and training content.

Experience Requirements

• At least two (2) years of professional experience in economic research and policy analysis, with a focus on international trade, is required.
• Experience in drafting technical documentation, methodological notes, and policy-oriented analytical outputs is required.
• Experience in the application of artificial intelligence tools for economic or trade-related analysis is required.
• Knowledge of programming languages (Python) is required.
• Experience working with international trade databases and programmatic data access tools (including APIs) is desirable.

Qualification Requirements

• A first-level university degree in Economics or Finance is required.
• A master's in Economics or Finance is desirable.

Other Details

Languages Required: • Fluency in Arabic is required. • Fluency in English is required.

Languages Preferred: • Knowledge of French and Arabic is desirable.

Contract Duration: 2.5 months
