Overview

The Project Officer will be responsible for the management, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of a project focused on the conservation of archaeological ruins and reinforcement of disaster risk reduction mechanisms.

Tasks Summary
  • Manage and provide technical and administrative support for project implementation.
  • Use UNESCO’s online management platforms for reporting and contract management.
  • Review and analyze reports related to conservation and management challenges.
  • Coordinate the establishment of a Project Steering Committee.
  • Manage the project budget and monitor its utilization.
  • Prepare Terms of Reference (TORs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Manage and monitor contracts awarded under the project.
  • Undertake monitoring missions and participate in relevant meetings.
  • Liaise with the National Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Officer.
  • Coordinate the submission of reports by local implementing partners.
  • Prepare synthesized periodic and consolidated technical reports.
  • Contribute to the preparation and organization of training workshops and meetings.
  • Prepare concept notes for resource mobilization.
  • Develop and disseminate communication and visibility materials.
  • Facilitate information-sharing among colleagues and stakeholders.
Experience Requirements

A minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience in the development sector, preferably in the field of culture or heritage.

Qualification Requirements

An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Archaeology, Conservation, Architecture, Sociology, Anthropology, Development Studies, or any other relevant discipline from a recognized institution.

Other Details

Languages Required: Excellent knowledge (written and spoken) of English and good working knowledge of Urdu.

Languages Preferred: Proficiency in the Sindhi language will be considered an asset.

Contract Duration: 11 months
