Overview
The Community-Based Protection Assistant works directly with communities of concern to identify risks and leverage capacities for protection, supporting the application of community-based protection standards at the field level.
Tasks Summary
- - Stay abreast of developments impacting the protection environment and advise the protection team.
- - Support communities in developing activities to address social, educational, psycho-social, cultural, health, organisational, and livelihood concerns.
- - Assist in involving national civil society groups in improving the protection of persons of concern.
- - Assist in the analysis of capacities and risks faced by communities of concern.
- - Support participatory assessments and ongoing consultation with persons of concern.
- - Support communities in establishing representation and coordination structures.
- - Ensure community understanding of UNHCR's commitment to accountability and quality assurance.
- - Collect data for monitoring of programmes and budgets from an AGD perspective.
- - Draft and type routine correspondence, documents, and reports.
- - Act as an interpreter in exchange of routine information.
- - Assist in the enforcement of participatory AGD sensitive analysis.
- - Identify and recommend individuals or groups for counselling and field visits.
- - Enforce compliance of implementing partners with global protection policies and standards.
- - Perform other related duties as required.
Experience Requirements
- - 1-year relevant experience with High School Diploma; or Bachelor or equivalent or higher.
- - UNHCR learning programmes (PLP) is desirable.
