Overview
The consultant will support UNFPA India's resource mobilization efforts by identifying funding opportunities, cultivating partnerships, and advancing strategic initiatives related to sexual and reproductive health, gender equality, and South-South and Triangular Cooperation.
Tasks Summary
- Support development of a strong donor and partner pipeline by identifying aligned funding opportunities and cultivating strategic partnerships
- Contribute to the achievement of UNFPA India’s non-core resource mobilization targets by driving donor engagement and supporting high-quality concept and proposal submissions
- Research on donor priorities, funding windows, and submission processes to inform engagement strategies and proposal alignment
- Contribute to the development of compelling donor-facing materials including presentations, briefing notes, and concept pitches
- Assist the RM Specialist in coordinating across thematic, innovations, and state teams to identify priority areas for resource mobilisation
- Maintain accurate records of donor engagement and support ongoing knowledge management for RM efforts
- Support the innovative financing initiatives led by the India Country Office, including the design, development, and implementation of alternative financing models such as blended finance, results-based financing, and social impact investments that align with UNFPA’s mandate
- Coordinate with thematic, innovations, and state teams to synthesize inputs and ensure proposals reflect technical soundness and programmatic priorities
- Conduct research and data analysis to ensure proposals are evidence-based and tailored to specific donor requirements
- Identify and engage corporate partners whose business strategies align with CRJB’s value proposition across SRHR priority areas
- Support onboarding of private sector partners by contributing to orientation sessions, executive briefings, and policy dialogues
- Contribute to the design and implementation of SSTC initiatives, including preparation of project documents, coordination with partner countries and institutions, UNFPA country and regional offices, development of knowledge products, and documentation of best practices for regional and global dissemination.
- Support strategic positioning of UNFPA India’s SSTC work through contributions to regional dialogues, cross-country exchanges, and technical cooperation frameworks.
- Work closely with the Communications team to develop and implement a donor communication and visibility plan that highlights UNFPA’s results and impact stories.
Experience Requirements
- 3-5 years of progressively responsible and relevant professional work experience in fundraising particularly in the development sector, with a track record of building meaningful partnerships and resource mobilisation.
- Understanding of sexual and reproductive health, family planning and gender and human rights.
- Familiarity with the international development landscape and donor requirements.
- Good knowledge of the donor ecosystem and development actors.
- Familiarity with donor requirements, guidelines, and reporting mechanisms.
Qualification Requirements
• Masters degree in Business Administration, Economics, Commerce, Social Work, Communications, Marketing, International Relations, or related disciplines.
