Overview
Conduct a formative evaluation of UNICEF Afghanistan’s Polio Programme to assess strategies for addressing immunity gaps and inform future programming.
Tasks Summary
- Develop an inception report detailing scope, methodology, data collection instruments, and timeline.
- Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data, storing it securely and ensuring anonymity.
- Prepare a final fieldwork report and a draft evaluation report.
- Present preliminary findings and the final evaluation report, conclusions, recommendations, and lessons learned.
- Submit a manuscript for publication.
Experience Requirements
- At least ten years of relevant work experience in conducting evaluations/research of programmes focusing on public health, infectious disease control, immunization (particularly polio).
- Ideally with experience in fragile countries.
- Experience in conducting evaluations of Polio programmes, preferably in Afghanistan.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
Qualification Requirements
• Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in public health, infectious disease control, immunization, global health security, health economics, biostatistics or other health or social science related field.
