Overview
The Director, IFC Corporate Strategy will lead the formulation and implementation of the institution’s strategy, manage Board relations, and support the IFC Management Team.
Tasks Summary
- Lead periodic updates of IFC’s corporate strategy with foresight analytics and emerging trend understanding.
- Lead development of IFC’s thematic strategies and coordinate IFC’s contribution to WBG strategies.
- Contribute to IFC’s regional strategies and WBG Country Partnership Frameworks.
- Promote staff and external stakeholders understanding of IFC’s strategic priorities.
- Evaluate operational implications of IFC/WBG strategies.
- Support IFC senior management in developing strategy implementation roadmaps.
- Ensure alignment between WBG and IFC strategies and IFC’s key operational performance indicators.
- Provide strategic advice on emerging challenges to strategy implementation.
- Act as IFC liaison with the WBG Corporate Secretariat and the Board.
- Ensure Board materials meet WBG standards and comply with guidelines.
- Represent IFC at Board and Board committee engagements.
- Develop intelligence on Board expectations, concerns, and procedures.
- Oversee Management Team secretariat, managing agendas, clearances, minutes, and workflow analysis for various committees.
- Oversee staff recruitment, development, deployment, and performance management.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant leadership experience.
- Strong background in corporate strategy, consulting, or business management, particularly in emerging markets.
- Demonstrated ability to operate at the highest levels in a complex, matrixed, consensus-driven, multicultural and constantly evolving global environment, handling multiple portfolios and balancing speed and quality.
Qualification Requirements
Master’s degree in business, finance, economics, international relations, or a related field.
