Leads WFP Malawi’s integrated supply chain portfolio, overseeing logistics, procurement, food systems, engineering, food safety and quality, emergency preparedness, and shared services to ensure timely, efficient, accountable, and sustainable delivery of assistance.
Tasks Summary
- Lead implementation of the WFP Malawi Supply Chain Strategy.
- Position supply chain as a catalyst for Zero Hunger.
- Drive digital transformation, green logistics, innovation, and performance improvement.
- Manage end‑to‑end supply chain operations.
- Lead high‑level partnership engagement.
- Oversee supply chains supporting CBT.
- Ensure compliance, risk mitigation, food safety and quality, and strong internal controls.
- Lead strategic and sustainable procurement.
- Strengthen market systems.
- Work with government and national institutions to strengthen national systems and capacities.
- Lead planning, pre‑positioning, logistics cluster coordination, and national readiness.
- Streamline shared logistics, procurement, and engineering services.
- Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of progressively responsible supply chain leadership experience.
- Experience leading complex operations, strategic planning, and national system strengthening.
- Proven capacity in partnership building with government, private sector, and humanitarian/development partners.
- Experience with emergency operations, market‑linked supply chains, CBT, and local/regional procurement.
- Demonstrated experience in innovation, digital tools, optimization, and cost‑efficiency initiatives.
Qualification Requirements
Advanced university degree in economics, logistics and supply chain, social sciences, international relations, or related field; or the equivalent combination of education.
