Tasks Summary

SOS Faim is a professional cooperation and development NGO created in 1993 and supported by the Luxembourgish Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. It aspires to a world without hunger by promoting a form of agriculture alternative to the dominant industrial model: more sustainable, resilient and solidary family farming. Part of its awareness-raising activities in Luxembourg, SOS Faim opened in November 2024 TERANGA - The House for Food Transition. This place aims to encourage meetings and exchanges around themes linked to the agri-food transition. Main tasks for the volunteer: - Participate in designing awareness-raising programs on agricultural and food issues - Implement activities around agricultural and food issues aimed at a young public - Conceive and create adapted and innovative educational material to foster awareness among a younger public - Participate in the development of the place - Support the communication of the project Accommodation, food and transport arrangements The volunteers will be accommodated in single rooms, on the upper floor of a house in the center of the town of Schifflange. They will share the premises with six other young people who will also be involved in running the place. They will have a common kitchen and a common day lounge, private access to the terrace while the garden will be open to the public on occasions. Public transport is entirely free in Luxembourg, train and bus stops nearby (2 minutes). Daily allowance for food and expenses, kitchen available for cooking their meals. Training during the activity Upon their arrival, young volunteers will be trained on community building and hub management, based on non-violent communication and collective intelligence, as well as thematic and advocacy skills.The SOS Faim team will provide ongoing supervision following the same approach. Volunteers will have real freedom to innovate and redesign the workshops and activities offered to the public, while being supported by the SOS Faim team. Participant profile - keen on volunteering, learning and/or delving deeper into the themes covered by our association - sensitive to the notions of solidarity and cooperation - fluent in French; German and English are a plus -ready to comit for minimum 10 and up to 12 months !!
