Overview

The Finance Advisor is responsible for ensuring financial setup adheres to NRC standards, supporting program and project implementation, and managing delegated responsibilities.

Tasks Summary
  • Implement NRC’s systems and procedures at area level
  • Ensure adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines and donor requirements
  • Support line managers in procedures and require support team training
  • Prepare donor budget and financial reports
  • Review and approve Purchase request
  • Support field office finance staff in both budgeting, monitoring, spending plans preparation and financial reporting
  • Facilitate finance induction and training on NRC budgeting/monitoring tools
  • Work with managers on the development of budget proposals.
  • Established financial reports and budget, in collaboration with the Finance Manager or Financial Controller.
  • Maintain budgetary control, prepare and regular update budget Vs Actual reports and conduct meetings,
  • Allocation of shared costs – Salaries, rent, vehicle rent etc.
  • Provides financial support and training to finance and non-finance staff.
  • Assist in preparation and update Master Budget.
  • Prepare financial analysis to Finance Manager eg- Master Budget Coverage etc.
  • Ensure the archiving of finance documents such as monthly payment vouchers in electronic copy.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working as a senior Finance coordinator or advisor in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Experience in working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Experience with ECHO, SIDA, NMFA, UNHCR, EU and other donors budgeting and reporting
  • Experience with large, complex, or multi-applicant projects that have strict donor regulations is highly beneficial.
  • Understanding and experience using Agresso/Unit4 or other accounting software is an advantage
  • Experience with start-up, exit or similar
Qualification Requirements

University Degree in the field of Finance

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and verbal

Languages Preferred:

Contract Duration: 12 months

Work Modality:

Remuneration: grade 8 on NRC’s national salary scale.
