Overview
The Innovative Climate Finance Expert will help drive Ukraine’s green recovery by designing and advancing innovative climate finance solutions, while building partnerships with donors, Development Finance Institutions, and private sector actors.
Tasks Summary
- Develop and advise on innovative climate and energy finance solutions, including blended finance, concessional instruments, guarantees and carbon‑related mechanisms.
- Support the design of climate mitigation and adaptation programmes and contribute to strong proposals and investment cases for climate funds, DFIs and private‑sector investors.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with government actors, finance institutions, humanitarian and development partners, and the private sector.
- Represent Mercy Corps externally, track donor priorities and contribute to influencing strategies on green recovery and climate finance.
- Contribute to NORCAP learning activities, technical workshops and required reporting.
- Ensure compliance with security procedures and participate in organisational learning initiatives.
Experience Requirements
- 5-7 years’ experience in climate finance, including blended finance and concessional finance instruments.
- Demonstrated experience securing funding from Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), global climate funds and private investors.
Qualification Requirements
• Advanced degree in finance, economics, climate studies or a related field.
