Overview
International Consultant on Digital / Services Trade Policy and Regulations to support various projects by developing assessments, contributing to work plans, organizing webinars, and engaging in other relevant project activities.
Tasks Summary
- Develop a detailed matrix for Digital Trade Regulatory Readiness Assessment (DTRRA).
- Contribute to DTRRA focused on prospective compliance with the DEFA of one country.
- Contribute to phases 2 and 3 of the elaboration of the ACCED Sectoral Work Plan.
- Engage in other relevant project activities including reporting, monitoring, and preparation of presentations.
- Draft a policy paper discussing practical benefits of the AfCFTA Digital Trade Protocol for African MSMEs.
- Prepare AfCFTA Digital Trade Protocol MSME case-study.
- Present the paper/case study virtually or in person.
- Organize/co-deliver a webinar for ECCAS Member states on the impact of the AfCFTA Digital Trade Protocol.
- Complete preliminary public sector stakeholder mapping based on DTRRA matrix.
- Provide technical guidance and capacity building support to national experts.
- Contribute to the preparation and delivery of capacity building activities.
- Assist in other activities related to digital trade policy and regulations.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of work experience in trade policy, trade negotiations, and international trade.
- Experience on matters relating to Digital Trade and Trade in Services policy and regulations.
- Experiences with conducting regulatory gap analyses is an asset.
Qualification Requirements
• Postgraduate degree (MA/MSc/MBA, PhD or other) in International Law or International Trade Law, an advantage.
