Overview
International Consultant to support the Trade and Market Intelligence section in the preparation and analysis of trade, export potential and trade policy datasets related to Flanders Investment and Trade (FIT) and Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) requests.
Tasks Summary
- Review and adapt export potential methodology for Flanders and Belgium.
- Liaise with Studies team for trade and tariff data.
- Quality control raw regional-level data.
- Merge datasets and calculate regional export potential.
- Quality control results and incorporate feedback.
- Compute and update export potential indicators for target countries.
- Ensure consistency of results across countries, product codes, and time periods.
- Prepare delivery-ready datasets with documentation and metadata.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on calculated indicators and final outputs.
- Support preparation of updated datasets.
- Document data processing steps, scripts, and methodologies.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 18 months of work experience in data management and analysis, and research.
- Previous work experience on trade data analysis would be an asset.
- Previous work experience using export potential data would be an asset.
Qualification Requirements
Postgraduate degree in Statistics, Economics, Trade or similar.
