Overview

The Transportation Clerk/Driver supports the effective functioning of the Country Office by ensuring the secure and timely transportation of personnel, visitors, and official materials. The role involves driving, vehicle maintenance, and providing logistical and administrative support.

Tasks Summary
  • Timely and safe driving of UNDP vehicles for personnel, visitors, and materials.
  • Delivery and collection of mails, documents, and equipment.
  • Meeting personnel and visitors at train stations/airports.
  • Performing daily vehicle maintenance and ensuring roadworthiness.
  • Maintaining daily vehicle logs.
  • Assisting in vehicle repair and maintenance services.
  • Ensuring vehicle insurance and first aid kit are valid.
  • Ensuring vehicle is equipped with Personal Protection Equipment, trauma bag, and satellite phone for specific trips.
  • Assisting in vehicle history records preparation.
  • Assisting in the organization of logistical preparation for field trips and missions.
  • Providing logistical support, including provisions for VIP missions.
  • Assisting in the preparation of Field Trip Reports for security clearance.
  • Loading/unloading of light cargo.
  • Assisting in reviewing records related to in-country missions and field trips.
  • Assisting in maintaining filing systems.
  • Supporting preparation of basic administrative reports, logs, and trackers.
  • Providing assistance in drafting routine correspondence and memos.
  • Maintaining up-to-date registers of assets, equipment, and office supplies.
  • Assisting in general maintenance of office premises.
  • Assisting the UNDP/UNDSS Training Unit during IFAK/SSAFE training by acting as a driver.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 4 years of professional driving experience (with secondary education).
  • Minimum 1 year of professional driving experience (with bachelor’s degree).
  • Knowledge of driving rules and regulations.
  • Skills in minor vehicle repair.
  • Knowledge of protocol and customs issues.
  • Safe driving record.
  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel).
  • Experience of driving of armoured vehicles (desired).
  • Previous experience of clerical office support (desired).
  • Experience of working with international organizations/projects (desired).
  • Knowledge/Experience of/with protocol and customs matters (desired).
  • Experience of driving in conflict-affected areas (desired).
  • Experience in logistical support, including all necessary provisions for large VIP missions (desired).
Qualification Requirements
  • Secondary Education with a valid Ukrainian driving license (categories B and C/C1).
  • University degree (Bachelor’s degree) in Business Administration, Social Sciences or related field, will be given due consideration but is not a requirement.

Languages Required: Fluency in Ukrainian and English are required.
