Responsible for the technical and scientific coordination, implementation and maintenance of the IOC data and information exchange system, particularly the Ocean Biodiversity Information System (OBIS) and support to related activities.
A minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in data informatics, or a related area, of which preferably two (2) years acquired at international level. Experience in IT web-enabled scientific database development and management.
Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent), preferably in information technology, computer science, environmental, marine or biological sciences, or a related field.
Languages Required: Excellent knowledge (spoken and written) of English.
Languages Preferred: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is an asset.
Contract Duration: 2 years, renewable
