Overview
The consultant will manage and administer refurbishment projects, ensuring adherence to technical standards, designs, quality, and timelines for child witness rooms and other project sites.
Tasks Summary
- Develop BoQs for child witness rooms.
- Supervise the quality of refurbishment works and certify completed works.
- Manage project implementation, including stakeholder coordination, vendor management, and ensuring timely completion.
- Oversee the procurement process, including obtaining permits and managing contractor obligations.
- Chair and minute Refurbishment Committee meetings.
- Coordinate and manage engineering consulting/design companies.
- Prepare schedules, monitor progress, and ensure projects are within budget and timelines.
- Compile progress reports.
- Ensure quality control and compliance with technical specifications.
- Ensure health and safety measures are in place.
- Respond to Requests for Information and issue site instructions/variations.
- Administer post-refurbishment activities, including drafting maintenance guidelines and managing defects rectification.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience at national level in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or building/construction/refurbishment.
- Experience in preparation, implementation, and monitoring of technical/construction/refurbishment projects.
- Experience in managing and supervising medium to large-scale construction/refurbishment works in the public/private sector.
- Experience in working in complex environments and large infrastructure and/or civil works construction/refurbishment projects.
- Working experience in UN or other international development organization is an asset.
- Skills in technical design of accessibility/eco-friendly and disaster risk reduction initiatives is an asset.
