National Consultant – Project Manager – Refurbishment, Sri Lanka, (Sri Lankan nationals only)

Overview

The consultant will manage and administer refurbishment projects, ensuring adherence to technical standards, designs, quality, and timelines for child witness rooms and other project sites.

Tasks Summary
  • Develop BoQs for child witness rooms.
  • Supervise the quality of refurbishment works and certify completed works.
  • Manage project implementation, including stakeholder coordination, vendor management, and ensuring timely completion.
  • Oversee the procurement process, including obtaining permits and managing contractor obligations.
  • Chair and minute Refurbishment Committee meetings.
  • Coordinate and manage engineering consulting/design companies.
  • Prepare schedules, monitor progress, and ensure projects are within budget and timelines.
  • Compile progress reports.
  • Ensure quality control and compliance with technical specifications.
  • Ensure health and safety measures are in place.
  • Respond to Requests for Information and issue site instructions/variations.
  • Administer post-refurbishment activities, including drafting maintenance guidelines and managing defects rectification.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience at national level in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or building/construction/refurbishment.
  • Experience in preparation, implementation, and monitoring of technical/construction/refurbishment projects.
  • Experience in managing and supervising medium to large-scale construction/refurbishment works in the public/private sector.
  • Experience in working in complex environments and large infrastructure and/or civil works construction/refurbishment projects.
  • Working experience in UN or other international development organization is an asset.
  • Skills in technical design of accessibility/eco-friendly and disaster risk reduction initiatives is an asset.
Qualification Requirements

Bachelors - Civil, Architectural or Building Construction/ Refurbishment

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluent in English language and Sinhala is a must, with skills in writing and documentation.
