Researcher in Congo, DRC – Country Assessment on Digital Economy Opportunities for Refugees and Displaced Persons

Overview

Conduct a country-level assessment focusing on digital economy opportunities for Refugees and Displaced Persons (RDPs) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

Tasks Summary

• Develop and validate a desk research plan and analytical framework.
• Map RDP clusters and key stakeholders.
• Translate and adopt FGD guides and KII questionnaires.
• Conduct at least 1 Focus Group Discussion with RDPs.
• Conduct at least 10 Key Informant Interviews.
• Develop/adapt and administer a short survey tool.
• Consolidate and analyse data from FGDs, KIIs, and survey.
• Compile a country summary table with findings.
• Submit a database of engaged stakeholders.
• Present key insights to ITC and project partners.

Experience Requirements

• 2 years of experience
• Demonstrated experience in conducting research.
• Proven ability to conduct qualitative interviews and write reports.
• Knowledge of digital sector development initiatives is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of issues relating to displacement is considered an asset.

Qualification Requirements

• Degree in economics, business, development studies, empirical research or related field.
• Extensive relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the university degree.

Languages Required: • Fluency in the respective country language (Congo, DRC) is required • Fluency in English is writing and speaking.
