Overview

The AIRADE Project Manager will be responsible for the effective management and day-to-day implementation of the AIRADE project, aiming to transform Ethiopia’s agricultural sector by expanding inclusive access to finance and services through digital solutions.

Tasks Summary
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of AIRADE activities.
  • Develop and implement annual and quarterly work plans.
  • Coordinate planning of technical activities including input distribution systems and capacity building.
  • Serve as the main liaison with implementing partners, government agencies, private sector actors, and other stakeholders.
  • Facilitate partnerships and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Supervise field activities and provide technical guidance.
  • Monitor progress of the project.
  • Work closely with M&E teams to track performance indicators.
  • Prepare high-quality narrative and financial reports.
  • Closely monitor development in the external environment and identify risks.
  • Document best practices, success stories, and lessons learned.
  • Support visibility and communication efforts.
Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of seven (7) years (with a master's degree) or nine (9) years (with a bachelor’s or equivalent) of relevant professional experience in agriculture financial services, input distribution, supply chain management, business administration.
  • Experience in project management, project coordination and monitoring and/or provision of advisory services or similar is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading inclusive private sector business development projects, particularly in the financial and agricultural sectors or related fields is required.
  • Familiarity with the technical aspects of digital finance services, agricultural finance, financial inclusion and agriculture digitization, challenges and opportunities of reaching the unbanked community though digital finance services in Ethiopia is required.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with government, private sector, and development partners is desired.
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results under pressure is desired.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and facilitating partnerships is desired.
Qualification Requirements
  • A master’s degree or first university degree in Economics, Project Management, Management, Banking and Finance, Economics, or a similar field is required, OR
  • A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the areas mentioned above in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience.
Other Details

Languages Required: • Full fluency in written and spoken English is required. • Fluency in Amharic or other languages used in Ethiopia is required.

Languages Preferred: • Working knowledge of any other official UN language is considered an asset.
