Overview
The consultant will lead feasibility and economic studies, design package, and procurement and tender packages for urban development interventions in Dahab, Egypt, ensuring technical, legal, financial, and environmental viability.
Tasks Summary
- Conduct situational analysis including concept review, global best practices, sector needs and regulations, environmental and social risks, stakeholder analysis, and site analysis.
- Prepare a comprehensive feasibility study covering demand, technical, legal, financial, economic, and risk analysis.
- Develop detailed design packages including concept development, schematic urban upgrading for Al Asala, and detailed design for a selected priority zone.
- Provide procurement and bidding support, including strategy, documentation, implementation support, bidder guidance, government coordination, and finalization.
- Collaborate and engage with project experts, team members, local community, potential investors, financial institutions, and local government.
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in urban design and planning, urban studies, urban economy or other related fields is required.
- Proven experience in contributing to feasibility or economic studies is required.
- Proven experience in developing design packages is required.
- Effective stakeholder engagement experience is desirable.
- Experience with international organizations and previous work with local government agencies or national counterparts is desirable.
Qualification Requirements
Advanced university degrees in architecture, urban planning, or a related field is required. A first level degree with an additional two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of Master’s degree.
