MEAL Officer

Overview

The MEAL Officer will ensure timely data and information collection and quality control for all project data. The role contributes to the overall project management by providing recommendations for improving data collection processes and documenting lessons learned.

Tasks Summary

• Contribute to the development of a conceptual framework and a comprehensive PMP.
• Support and supervise a comprehensive baseline study.
• Support the annual evaluation process.
• Support and supervise the mid-term evaluation.
• Organize and supervise the final evaluation.
• Develop and support the development of comprehensive M&E tools and databases.
• Participate in project data quality control and support gap resolution.
• Consolidate project data and generate project indicators for regular reporting.
• Formulate recommendations on how to improve data collection, tools, and processes.
• Document lessons learned from monitoring and evaluation.

Experience Requirements

• Three years of experience in monitoring and evaluation.
• Demonstrated experience in data collection and analysis.
• Familiar with different types of databases.
• Proven skills in training colleagues and stakeholders.
• Effective working with and through partners.

Qualification Requirements

• Licence in statistics or equivalent field.
• Good knowledge of data management applications: Access, Epidata, SPSS or equivalent.
• Very good knowledge in general monitoring and evaluation.
• Very good understanding of project indicators.
