Overview
Provide technical, coordination, and knowledge-management support to strengthen the implementation, monitoring, reporting, and evidence generation of the maternal nutrition programme. Support scaling up essential nutrition services in health facilities and provide technical support for Green Food and Nutrition Programmes in schools.
Tasks Summary
- Finalize and produce maternal nutrition training package.
- Organize and facilitate Training of Trainers (ToT) on Maternal Nutrition.
- Support the inclusion of multiple micronutrient supplements and therapeutic food and milk into the essential drug list.
- Advocate for and support centralized procurement of multiple micronutrient supplements.
- Demonstrate implementation of a full maternal nutrition service package in selected provinces.
- Integrate maternal nutrition services in ANC clinical protocols and regulations.
- Develop and roll out the behavior change and communication strategy.
- Support programme knowledge management.
- Support evidence generation on MMS impacts for pregnant women.
- Produce quarterly and annual progress reports.
- Support the MoH in updating the national protocol on the integrated management of acute malnutrition.
- Support the finalization of the updated Infant and Young Child Feeding counseling package.
- Support translation and adaptation of the WHO ‘Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding’ monitoring manual.
- Support procurement and installation of essential equipment in Amgalan Maternity Home.
- Provide technical inputs for the development of the new Country Programme Document (CPD).
Experience Requirements
At least 5 years of progressively responsible professional work experience at the national and/or international levels in nutrition, medicine, health, programme/project development, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, communication, and information management.
Qualification Requirements
Bachelor or advanced degree in medicine, public health, nutrition or related field.
