Overview
The role involves providing legal, operational, and policy advice on the implementation of the Ukraine Plan, overseeing payment requests, drafting legal and financial acts, and coordinating with relevant Commission services.
Key Responsibilities
- providing legal, operational and policy advice on the implementation of the Ukraine Plan
- overseeing the processing of payment requests under the Ukraine Plan, including managing interservice coordination and consultation and the process of scrutiny by the Council
- drafting legal and financial acts related to disbursements under the Ukraine Plan (loan agreement(s), proposals for Council Implementing Decisions, etc)
- coordinating with other relevant Commission services, in particular with DG BUDG and the Legal Service regarding budgetary and legal matters related to the Ukraine Plan
- facilitating the coordination of work across the unit, Directorate and the Commission, particularly with regard to operational, legal and financial/budgetary matters
Required Experience
- experience working on instruments providing budget assistance to Member States or third countries.
- A strong understanding of the EU accession process is a must.
- A good understanding of Commission and Council decision- making processes and familiarity with interinstitutional legal matters, and experience engaging with audit and control bodies in the implementation of EU funds, are also important for the position.
- A familiarity with Commission decision- making and operational tools.
Qualifications
at least a level of education which corresponds to completed university studies of at least 3 years attested by a diploma.
