Overview
The Project Assistant (Cash Disbursement) will support the implementation of AVRR/NAVRR activities by assisting with the accurate, timely, and compliant disbursement and recording of cash-based and in-kind assistance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the administrative implementation and monitoring of project activities.
- Support administrative coordination of project implementation.
- Draft status reports.
- Draft correspondence, reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations and other forms of documentation.
- Organize meetings, workshops and training sessions.
- Respond to general information requests and inquiries.
- Perform the duties of Cash Custodian.
- Assist in preparing unit funding requests for cash distribution activities.
- Execute cash disbursements for all duly approved Petty Cash Claims and/or Requests for Payment.
- Maintain cashbooks by recording transactions on timely basis and assist in periodic reconciliation of balances with cash on hand.
- Generate Cash Certificates and supporting documentation for submission to the Resource Management Unit (RMU) in Ankara at the close of each month.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in political or social sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or High school diploma with four years of relevant professional experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-mail, Outlook.
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations.
- Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups.
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in political or social sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution; or High school diploma.
