Overview
This assignment aims to deploy a proactive strategy to mobilize the international media to amplify UNDP Côte d'Ivoire's results, build a sustainable international media network, and position the country office as a key player in development debates in West Africa.
Tasks Summary
- To carry out a mapping of key international media (news agencies, news channels, online media) covering West Africa and development themes
- To build and update a structured database of media contacts (journalists, editors, correspondents, influential bloggers) classified by geographical area, theme and type of media
- Identify journalists and influencers specialized in UNDP's areas of intervention: democratic governance, sustainable development, climate, innovation, gender equality
- Engage in proactive dialogue with identified media contacts to build lasting relationships.
Experience Requirements
- Proven experience in press relations and/or media relations, preferably in an international context or with media with an international audience
- Experience in writing professional-quality press releases, opinion pieces or editorial content
- Experience in the United Nations system, international organizations or NGOs would be an asset
- An existing network of media contacts would be a significant advantage
Qualification Requirements
• Advanced university degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in communication, journalism, international relations, political science or related field
