Overview
Support all activities related to the supply and handling of POL products, including aircraft fuelling and defueling operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Fuelling and de-fuelling a/c;
- Issuing gasoline to operators of various type vehicles and motor driven support equipment;
- Operating and monitoring the automated on base hydrant refuelling system in the Fuel Control Centre;
- Performing inspections, services, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on fuel trucks and other POL mobile / support equipment;
- Inspecting, servicing and performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of all fixed POL infrastructure;
- Performing safety checks, maintenance and minor repair of POL equipment;
- Maintaining POL related shelf-life data and marking POL products with appropriate labels;
- Taking and dispatching samples under the POL quality control scheme;
- Performing daily and monthly stocktaking duties;
- Assisting/escorting contractor personnel;
- Operating logistics related computer terminals;
- Operating motor vehicles, especially tank trucks, as well as other POL installations and support equipment;
- Performing dispatcher and general housekeeping duties, including ground snow/ice removal.
Required Experience
- Basic working knowledge of Petroleum, Oil and Lubricants (POL) handling principles acquired through at least 2 years related, current professional experience;
- At least 1-year professional experience as tank truck driver or as operator/mechanic of a larger tank farm;
- Desirable: Previous NATO assignment;
- Desirable: Experience working in an international/military environment;
- Desirable: Experience as POL operations specialist at a military air base or a larger commercial airport.
Qualifications
- Secondary education and completed basic vocational training in a POL refining/handling related field or secondary education and basic training for specific task related skills with 1-year experience;
- Driving license equivalent to European Class CE;
- Valid license for transporting dangerous goods/cargo on the road;
- Knowledge of Standard Automatic Data Processing (ADP);
- Desirable: Completed appropriate advanced vocational training.
