Overview
The Health Specialist reports to the Maternal, Neonatal Health (MNH) Specialist and is accountable for providing technical support for the implementation of MNH projects, including community-based MNH. This includes technical support, managing, implementation, coordination, integration, evidence generation, monitoring, and supervision.
Key Responsibilities

Required Experience
- A minimum of five years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas is required: public health/nutrition planning and management, maternal and neonatal health care.
- A good demonstrated understanding of the primary health care and community-health care system in Afghanistan is required
- Previous experience in implementation of a large-scale MNH project is an asset
- Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.
- Experience working with International Financing Institutions (IFIs) is an asset.
Qualifications
An advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: public health/nutrition, pediatric health, family health, epidemiology, or another relevant technical field.
