Overview
This vacancy is to develop a list of qualified candidates for inclusion in a roster for the WHO Health Emergency Programme in Nepal. Successful candidates may be selected for assignments related to driving and related tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive office vehicles for authorized personnel transport.
- Perform messenger functions, including delivery of items and diplomatic pouches.
- Meet and assist WHO and official personnel at entry points.
- Maintain assigned vehicle cleanliness and condition, reporting mechanical issues.
- Maintain logs of official trips, daily maintenance, mileage, and gasoline consumption.
- Recommend and monitor major repair work on vehicles.
- Take precautions for vehicle and content security.
- Perform convoy duties and other tasks like photocopying and collating documents.
- Ensure compliance with travel reporting procedures and security measures.
Required Experience
- 3 years’ work experience as a driver with a demonstrated safe driving record.
- Knowledge of driving rules and regulations.
- Skills in minor vehicle repair.
- Experience in driving in difficult and hilly terrain.
- Experience in 4-wheelers driving a variety of makes and models of vehicles.
- Work experience with UN agencies, international organizations, embassies, or other reputed organizations would be an advantage.
- Experience in defensive safe driving would be an asset.
Qualifications
- Middle Level education (at least 8th standard).
- Formal Driver’s Certificate/Training from a recognized institution (desirable).
- Defensive driving training (an advantage).
