Overview

The Coordination Specialist- Solutions to Displacement will strengthen internal and external coordination across UNDP, the United Nations Country Team, Government counterparts, donors, and civil society partners to promote coherence and a coordinated development approach to displacement in Iraq.

Tasks Summary
  • Serve as UNDP’s technical focal point on Durable Solutions coordination.
  • Engage with national and sub-national Durable Solutions coordination platforms.
  • Coordinate with Government counterparts, UN agencies, civil society organizations and local communities.
  • Provide technical leadership to the Reintegration Taskforce.
  • Contribute to UNDP’s strategic positioning on the humanitarian-development-peace nexus.
  • Act as focal point for consultants and stakeholders developing a National Solutions Financing Strategy.
  • Strengthen linkages between humanitarian, development and peace financing streams.
  • Support national and sub-national planning processes related to durable solutions.
  • Promote the mobilization and alignment of financial resources.
  • Facilitate integration of displacement-related financing into INFF building blocks.
  • Organize and convene RTF meetings.
  • Serve as Secretariat to the Taskforce.
  • Provide periodic updates to the Technical Working Group and Steering Committee.
  • Organize joint field missions.
  • Coordinate assessments, analytical studies and advocacy initiatives.
  • Prepare progress updates and annual reports.
  • Contribute to strengthening strategic partnerships.
  • Analyze donor priorities and funding trends.
  • Support donor engagement.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Experience in similar functions in crisis and post-conflict environments is required.
  • Proven experience in Durable Solutions and/or IDP-support programming is required.
  • Strong understanding of UNDP policies and practices is an asset.
  • Experience with UN/UNDP Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding guidance and implementation methods is an asset.
  • Experience and knowledge of development and displacement issues and challenges in the MENA Region is an asset.
  • Knowledge of result-based management, including progress monitoring, would be an asset.
  • Previous experience of working with governments, NGOs, and UN agencies is preferred.
  • Experience in gender and conflict-sensitive programming and implementation would be an advantage.
Qualification Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Law, Political Sciences, International Relations, International Development

Languages Required: English, Level: Fluent, Required

Languages Preferred: Arabic, Level: Working knowledge, Desirable Knowledge of Arabic and/or Kurdish is a plus but not required.

Contract Duration: 12 months (with possibility of extension)

Work Modality: On UN premises Onsite

Remuneration: • Monthly Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) at the amount of USD 2,516.22 • Entry lump sum: USD 4000 • Exit allowance (paid on successful completion of the assignment); USD 225 per each month. • Annual and learning leaves • Medical and life Insurance • Free access to different learning platforms.
