Overview
Consultant to support the Global Electric Mobility Programme, focusing on electric two- and three-wheelers in low and middle-income countries.
Key Responsibilities
- - Update UNEP’s Global Emerging Markets Overview for Electric Two and Three Wheelers.
- - Collect and analyze data on E2/3W technology, ownership, employment, use, and deployments.
- - Analyze the food and grocery delivery industry's transition to zero-emission deliveries.
- - Integrate gender and E2/3W datasets into UNEP’s Gender and E-Mobility Database.
- - Provide an overview of city and country 2/3W bans and E2/3W mandates and targets.
- - Update UNEP’s subpage on E2/3Ws.
- - Analyze economic, safety, climate, and health benefits of E2/3Ws.
- - Conduct 2/3W policy diagnostics for focus countries.
- - Support the finalization of the report on “Battery end-of-life management for E2&3 wheelers in LMICs”.
- - Develop a case study on workforce transition and inclusion impacts of the E2&3W transition.
- - Prepare a just transition plan for the E2/3W campaign, including gender indicators and a monitoring framework.
- - Identify and document successful E2/3W initiatives targeting women.
- - Map key stakeholders for the transition to E2/3Ws.
- - Organize stakeholder consultations with private and public sector stakeholders.
- - Support stakeholder consultations with public sector actors.
- - Support planning and organizing high-level meetings on the transition to E2/3Ws.
- - Support the development, organization, and communication of regional training programmes, webinars, and workshops on E2/3Ws.
Required Experience
- - A minimum of five years’ work experience in project management in Emerging Markets contexts is required.
- - Proven expertise in organizing high level meetings and stakeholder consultations is required.
- - Technical writing, analytical, presentation and communication skills are required.
- - Experience in data collection, analysis and visualization is required.
- - Experience in campaign and event planning is desirable.
- - Experience working in an international organization or government agency is desirable.
- - Knowledge on electric mobility issues, including the operational and technical aspects of electric two and three wheelers is desirable.
- - Knowledge on the management of end-of-life EV batteries is desirable.
- - Experience in gender mainstreaming in international development projects is desirable.
Qualifications
An advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in environmental sciences, engineering, transport or a related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
