Knowledge Management Intern

Overview

Support the development and maintenance of the UN Security Sector Reform & Governance (SSR/G) Knowledge Hub and assist with knowledge management activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development of the UN Security Sector Reform & Governance (SSR/G) Knowledge Hub (SSR-KH) in Sharepoint.
• Source SSR materials (documents and video) for the SSR-KH from all 15 members of the UN SSR Inter-agency SSR Task Force and upload those documents in the KH.
• Serve as the SSR-KH 'call centre' and answer requests for SSR/G information from UN personnel.
• Support outreach on the SSR-KH within the UN system.
• Monitor the use of the SSR-KH and evaluate the effectiveness of the knowledge management system.
• Assist with knowledge management and organizational learning, including drafting of lessons learned studies and practice notes on UN peace operations work in SSR.
• Support the organization of the UN SSR Annual Workshop “CommonConnections”.

Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in (fill in subjects...) or related field. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme. Applicants should have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams. Ability to draft news articles and/or social media posts. Ability to design surveys and polls.
