Overview
The internship will support the implementation of protection and solution strategies and action plans to advance UNHCR's mandate in Bulgaria, focusing on integration, education and socio-economic inclusion interventions and advocacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting desk review, research and analysis on issues relating to the rights of forcibly displaced and stateless people;
- Monitoring and data collection through site visits, and/or interviews with displaced or stateless people or other stakeholders, and other community-based initiatives;
- Assisting in event management, including logistical support, notetaking, follow-up assignments;
- Supporting the development of AI tools facilitating refugee integration and access to education;
- Drafting or providing inputs reports;
- Supporting other related duties as required.
Required Experience
- Previous experience in research, report writing, or administrative support is advantageous.
- Previous work experience or volunteering in support to vulnerable communities is advantageous.
Qualifications
- Be either a recent graduate (having completed their studies within two years of applying) or a current student in a graduate/undergraduate school programme from a university or higher education facility accredited by IAU/UNESCO ;
- Have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in a field relevant or of interest to the work of UNHCR .
- not have exhausted the maximum cumulative internship period with UNHCR, including any prior internships (8 months for full-time and 12 months for part-time)
