Overview
The Cash-Based Interventions Officer will assist with the development and delivery of cash-based interventions under the Migrant Protection, Return and Reintegration Programme for Sub-Saharan Africa (MPRR-SSA). The role supports country offices in implementing and monitoring these interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the integration of CBI into operational plans and strategies.
- Contribute to the design, revision, and dissemination of CBI tools, guidance, and workplans.
- Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures for CBI.
- Liaise with relevant colleagues to ensure compliance with IOM policies and procedures for CBI.
- Support Country Offices in conducting assessments, planning, budgeting, and technical choices for CBI.
- Liaise and coordinate with Country Offices to ensure a coherent approach to CBI.
- Assist in identifying adequate delivery mechanisms and financial service providers for CBI.
- Support in reviewing the use of CBI and identifying best practices and solutions.
- Support knowledge management and learning on CBI and prepare reports.
- Contribute technical inputs to MEAL tools and frameworks for CBI.
- Provide technical guidance and backstopping to Country Offices in their engagement with partners.
- Undertake field visits to support project teams as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience
- Master’s degree with two years of relevant professional experience; or University degree with four years of relevant professional experience.
- International experience in cash programming in humanitarian and non-humanitarian contexts, particularly with cash for livelihood.
- Practical experience in coordinating with colleagues in field missions.
- Experience liaising with governmental authorities, other national and international institutions and NGOs and building effective local partnerships, including with the private sector.
- Experience coordinating activities across locations and reporting.
- Experience in resource management and procurement related to CBI.
- Proven ability to work with vulnerable individuals and integrate protection considerations into CBI programming.
- Work experience with Return and Reintegration programming is an advantage.
- Work experience in Sub-Saharan Africa is an advantage.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in economics, Social Sciences, Political Science or a related field from an accredited academic institution.
- University degree in economics, Social Sciences, Political Science or a related field from an accredited academic institution.
