Overview
This role supports Asia Pacific National Societies with their financial sustainability and resource mobilization efforts by understanding their institutional systems, identifying gaps, and coordinating technical support.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the focal point to support AP NS Financial Sustainability.
- Align regional and global efforts with NS priorities.
- Map and connect expertise across the Movement to ensure support is delivered.
- Attract and expand resources for FS in the region.
- Ensure effective coordination with focal points.
- Coordinate and provide advisory support to NSs on Financial Sustainability strategies and plans.
- Analyze National Societies as complex organizational systems to identify financial sustainability bottlenecks.
- Advise on institutional cost structures and sustainability models.
- Work with NSs in defining a low-risk funding mix.
- Support NSs in identifying, assessing and prioritizing business development opportunities.
- Prepare NSs to leverage opportunities for emergency fundraising.
- Support the development of RM tools and systems within the NS.
- Work closely with the Asia Pacific Fundraisers Network (APFN) to support Peer exchange and learning.
- Facilitate alignment between APFN and broader Financial Sustainability discussions.
- Support the organization of regional skill shares, webinars and communities of practice.
- Facilitate spaces for APFN to promote its work at leadership meetings.
- Facilitate discussions with National Society leadership on Financial Sustainability.
- Support head of NSD to ensure strategic FS issues are included at leadership forums and regional platforms.
- Encourage long-term, leadership-driven ownership of Financial Sustainability processes.
- Provide data based financial sustainability advise to NSs.
- Support the head of NSD to ensure Financial Sustainability discussions are holistic approaches of overall National Society Development.
- Create Peer to Peer opportunities among leaders around Financial Sustainability challenges.
Required Experience
- 10 – 15 years of experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in business management, business development, institutional strategy or resource mobilization.
- Experience in analyzing organizational models and identifying structural improvement opportunities.
- Experience facilitating senior-level discussion and strategic workshops.
Qualifications
- University degree in relevant field.
- Relevant post graduate qualification/technical training (or equivalent experience) would be preferred.
