Overview
The Program Coordinator will provide leadership and day-to-day management of IRC’s programs implementation in Colombia, overseeing programmatic quality and smooth running of programs in field offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely planning, implementation and follow up of multi-sector programming.
- Monitor project progress against indicators and budgets, adjusting work plans and spending plans as needed.
- Provide procurement planning support to field managers and staff.
- Collaborate with technical sector managers to ensure programmatic quality, staff capacity building and sector specific guidance.
- Identify risk areas to project delivery and coordinate solutions and mitigation measures.
- Keep abreast of the local context, needs, gaps and constraints to anticipate issues affecting program implementation.
- Keep donors up to date on key project developments and implementation challenges.
- Ensure consistent collaboration with Field Management Teams for collective planning and coordination.
- Direct supervision of leaders of field offices, establishing and reviewing performance objectives.
- Provide regular constructive feedback and support performance management.
- Promote appropriate norms and establish measures for a safe and healthy working environment.
- Coach, train, supervise and mentor direct-report staff.
- Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting team spirit.
- Approve and manage time, attendance and leave requests.
- Hold high-quality meetings with direct reports.
- Provide measurable development plans for staff.
- Identify and address staff performance issues in accordance with policies.
- Promote and monitor staff care and well-being.
- Support staff in career growth and nationalization goals.
- Represent IRC in inter-agency forums and discussions when needed.
- Represent and promote IRC with local authorities and coordination bodies.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in management within humanitarian settings.
- Experience working with refugees, migrants, or internally displaced populations.
- Proven ability to implement projects in volatile contexts.
- Confirmed ability to negotiate and work with partner organizations.
- Experience with organizational capacity strengthening and partnership building is helpful.
- Previous experience managing programs financed by US government agencies, DFID, EU, foundations and private donors a must.
- Previous experience in competitive environments a plus.
- Proven ability to manage projects to completion on time, within budget, and with anticipated results.
- Ability to respond to multiple priorities in a timely manner, producing high-quality outcomes.
- Strong budget and fiscal oversight capacities.
Qualifications
• Technical or technological degree in Social Work, Human Rights, Psychosocial Support, or a related field.
