Overview
The Youth and Education Specialist will provide case management and out-of-school services to youth ages 0-24, supporting their integration through various program services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide case management and out-of-school services to youth ages 0-24, ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
- Assist eligible children, youth, and families with school enrollment.
- Coordinate communication with teachers, parents, and students.
- Assess educational background of each student to determine barriers to school attendance and success.
- Facilitate school orientations on topics such as the U.S. educational system.
- Provide case management services including referring and linking youth for services in the community.
- Conduct follow-up home visits with students and their families.
- Develop and implement culturally appropriate activities and programs to engage students.
- Support volunteers and interns assisting with youth programming.
- Maintain accurate and timely client case notes, referrals and case files.
Required Experience
Relevant professional experience in the human services field required; minimum of 2 years strongly preferred. Experience with education, case management and/or youth programs strongly preferred. Experience with immigrant and refugee populations preferred.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
