Overview

The incumbent will be responsible for elaborating outcomes related to policy recommendations for the livestock sector aligned with climate change initiatives and enhancing capacity for GHG/SLCP emission measurement.


Key Responsibilities
  • Draft project operational documents including terms of reference, letters of agreement, requests for proposal, and bidding documents.
  • Carry out background research and review of country’s methane pledge and roadmap, relevant national and sectoral policies and strategies.
  • Organize and support trainings, conferences, workshops, consultations, and field visits on GHG emission assessments and digital tools.
  • Produce training materials and manuals for sectoral officials on livestock SLCP emissions reductions strategies and NDC implementation.
  • Collaborate with international experts to adapt models for extensive livestock production systems and co-produce model application and GHG emissions results.
  • Modify and compile project reports, strategies, and assessments in collaboration with FAO experts.
  • Perform other relevant duties requested by the FAOR and AFAOR.
Required Experience

• At least 5 years of extensive working experience in a subject related to climate change, livestock, or environmental sciences.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or equivalent in Agriculture, or Environment and relevant major. PhD degree will be considered an asset.
