Overview

The European Commission is seeking to hire 6 Administrative Agents (file managers) to manage family and education allowances within the Paymaster Office (PMO). The role involves determining and managing individual financial rights and processing related administrative requests.


Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse declarations in SYSPER and determine applicable rights.
  • Encode determined rights in SYSPER.
  • Process files according to rules, procedures, and guidance for allowances.
  • Process other administrative requests for managed files.
  • Respond to client questions and requests.
  • Provide general administrative support in various PMO business areas.
Required Experience
  • At least 2 years professional experience relevant to the duties outlined.
  • Experience working with payroll or allowances services (in private or public organisations) is a strong asset.
  • Experience of working in a client-oriented service and with personal files is a strong asset.
  • Familiarity with payroll or social benefits systems in Member States is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of IT tools used in the European Commission, like Sysper, NAP, ServiceNow, and ARES is a strong asset.
Qualifications
  • A level of post-secondary education attested by a diploma OR
  • A level of secondary education attested by a diploma giving access to post-secondary education, and appropriate professional experience of at least three years.

Languages Required
• Thorough knowledge (minimum level C1) of one of the 24 official languages of the EU. • Satisfactory knowledge (minimum level B2) of a second official language of the EU.
Languages Preferred
• Good knowledge of French or English is essential, and good knowledge of the other language is a strong advantage. • Passive knowledge of one or more of the following languages would be considered an asset: Bulgarian, Croatian, Danish, Estonian, Finnish, Hungarian, Irish, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Polish, Slovenian and Swedish.
Contract Duration
The duration of the first contract will be 1 year. The contract may be renewed for a definite duration. If a second renewal is in the interest of the service, the contract will be for an indefinite duration.

Remuneration
The pay of staff members consists of a basic salary supplemented with specific allowances, including, where applicable, expatriation and family allowances. The European Commission applies a tax raised by those institutions.
