Overview
The intern will provide support to the Office of the Director of the Thematic and Special Procedures (TSP) Division within the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). The role focuses on programme management and substantive support on thematic issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide timely support to the Director, Special Assistants and Programme Management Coordinators in areas related to annual work planning, resource management, budget processes, coordination, reporting and thematic analysis.
- Contribute to the preparation and monitoring of workplans and related reporting tools.
- Support the preparation and review of thematic and programmatic inputs to reports, substantive and budget briefing notes.
- Assist in maintaining coordination with Branches and Sections, including by taking meeting notes, preparing summaries, and following up on agreed actions.
- Assist with information and knowledge management, including updating shared folders, databases, and internal platforms.
- Provide logistical and administrative support for meetings, the Director’s travel, workshops and consultations.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Required Experience
Applicants are not required to have professional work experience for participation in the programme.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in, or have recently completed, a graduate school programme in Law, Human Rights, International relations, Political Science, Development or related subject (second university degree or equivalent, or higher - Master's or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent).
- OR enrolled in, or have recently completed the final academic year of a first university degree programme in Law, Human Rights, International relations, Political Science, Development or related subject (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent).
