Overview

The consultant will ensure metal carpentry services are restored and continuously available to maintain functional infrastructure, safety systems, and facilities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricate and install metal supports for electrical bus bars, safety brackets for LED lighting, and supports for solar panels.
  • Dismantle old data center structure and assess damaged entrance door railing.
  • Support dismantling of prefabricated units.
  • Provide metal carpentry support for internal modifications, including doors and gypsum board partitions.
  • Provide on-demand metal carpentry services for maintenance, including repair and adjustment of doors and windows, corrective maintenance of emergency exit doors, repair and reinforcement of railings, fixing and cleaning of metal gutters, and support to other trades.
  • Perform ad hoc metal works arising from wear and tear, safety hazards, or minor incidents.
  • All activities will be limited to non-structural metal works and coordinated with Campus Support teams in compliance with UNGSC safety and operational standards.
Required Experience
  • A minimum of three (3) years of practical experience in metal fabrication, assembly, and repair, including welding, cutting, and shaping steel and aluminum structures, as well as routine maintenance of metal fixtures, machinery, aluminum windows, flashings, and rain gutters, is required.
  • The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to one (1) year for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher.
  • Experience in evaluating all kinds of iron, steel, aluminum and selecting the best quality of tools and equipment is required.
  • Experience in sheet metal work for mechanical, electrical or HVAC installations is desirable.
  • Experience working in the United Nations or similar international organization is desirable.
  • Previous attendance of safety awareness training to avoid hazards is desirable.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A first-level university degree or higher (reduces minimum experience requirement).
