Overview
The intern will support the UNEP Brazil Country Office in the assistance of the Communication Team, delivering daily communications and translation activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute in engaging in strategic communications planning and processes.
- Contribute to maintain and regularly update the UNEP Brazil website and social medias.
- Collect background information and contribute to the preparation of pieces, infographics, newsletters, reports, and project documents.
- Maintain the office's mailing list updated and contribute to office network expansion strategies.
- Contribute with Clipping.
- Support the contact with the media.
- Assist in the organization of publications, data and files.
- Assist the Communication Focal Point in gathering information.
- Collect background information and contribute to the preparation of reports, project documents and working papers.
- Prepare drafts of documents, correspondence, general reports and overview registry.
- Help develop graphic materials, edit audio-visual content, prepare PowerPoint and presentations.
- Support the organization of workshops, seminars, and missions.
- As required, translate press releases, opinion editorials and other documents from English to Portuguese or Portuguese to English.
- Daily screen incoming correspondence and telephone calls, draft routine correspondence (in Portuguese, English and Spanish) and takes appropriate follow-up action.
- Perform other clerical tasks as required.
- Support other activities of the Country Office as requested.
Qualifications
- Be enrolled in a Master's Degree programme in Media and Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Advertisement, Marketing, Languages, Translation, Fine Arts, International Relations and or any relevant Communication field; OR
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a Bachelor degree program in Media and Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Advertisement, Marketing, Languages, Translation, Fine Arts, International Relations and or any relevant Communication field; OR
- Have graduated with a university degree in Media and Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Advertisement, Marketing, Languages, Translation, Fine Arts, International Relations and or any relevant Communication field.
- Be computer literate in standard software applications (MS Office).
