Overview

The internship focuses on supporting the Macroeconomic Policy and Financing for Development Division (MPFD) in disseminating its publications and events by developing a strategic communication plan and implementing digital outreach initiatives.

Tasks Summary
  • Assist in drafting and editing content for public information materials, including press releases, newsletter articles, blog posts, and social media updates;
  • Support the development of social media plans and campaigns, as well as explore additional digital outreach opportunities and initiatives to increase online visibility, readership, and engagement with publications, events, and projects;
  • Produce various multimedia materials for online and offline use, such as infographics, motion graphics, short videos, publication covers, presentation templates, and event flyers;
  • Prepare professional PowerPoint presentations highlighting the Division’s work, projects, publications, and activities;
  • Assist with video production, including shooting, editing, sound mixing, and animating slideshows, as required;
  • Support the organization and execution of publication launches and other events;
  • Conduct background research to inform public information materials;
  • Initiate and carry out assigned tasks or special projects as required.
Experience Requirements

No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.

Qualification Requirements
  • Meet one of the following requirements: a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent)
  • Have studied areas such as communications, public information, and/or public policy;
  • Have an understanding of social media sites and publicity activities;
  • Have demonstrated a keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter;
  • Have demonstrated the ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which includes willingness to understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the Internship Programme.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of another official UN language, such as Chinese or Russian, is an asset.

Contract Duration: 3 to 6 months

Work Modality: Remote and/or on-site in Bangkok

Remuneration: The internship is UNPAID. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
