Overview
The National Reintegration Officer will be responsible for the management, coordination, and implementation of the reintegration component within the mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities.
- Coordinate reintegration support interventions for returnees.
- Participate in external forums as a focal point for reintegration and labour mobility.
- Build capacity of civil society organisations on sustainable reintegration and labour mobility.
- Contribute to the development of new project ideas and proposals.
- Provide technical guidance to stakeholders and project teams.
- Contribute to capacity building activities for IOM staff, government, and civil society partners.
- Attend relevant conferences, workshops, and meetings.
- Participate in the preparation of project proposals and communication products.
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders such as government entities and NGOs.
- Undertake duty travel for project implementation and monitoring.
Required Experience
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations.
- Experience in working with migrants in the context of return and reintegration.
- Knowledge of return and reintegration policies and strategies in Cameroon.
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience; or,
- Master’s degree in the above-mentioned fields with two years of relevant professional experience.
