Overview
The Field Security Guard is responsible for assisting the Head of the Centre with the day-to-day management of the security guards’ team and ensuring the safety and security of the Mission's premises, staff, and UN-owned properties.
Key Responsibilities
- - Assists the Head of the Centre with the day-to-day management of the security guards’ team and associated administrative processes, as necessary.
- Controls entry and ensures safety and security of the Mission's premises, staff and UN-owned properties.
- Undertakes routine patrols of assigned areas, maintaining continual surveillance against fire, water leakage and any other occurrence which might damage premises or staff and keeps records of patrols up to date.
- Assists in the investigation and reporting on all incidents that involve a breach of security procedures, injuries or theft and reports back to supervisor.
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities, if/as necessary.
Required Experience
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in security is required
- Demonstrated ability to liaise and coordinate on security-related matters concerning the Guard Force team, including external compound security and perimeter patrols, with relevant local authorities responsible for UNRCCA premises security, as well as with officials of the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) is desirable.
- Good knowledge of the city, local roads, and conditions where the office is located. Knowledge of security rules, regulations, and as well as standard security and safety procedures in order to undertake both patrols of buildings and grounds and routine monitoring and grating of entry to the premises and physical fitness is desirable.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A valid driver's license is required.
