Overview
Serve as a technical and scientific reference in comprehensive abortion care, developing evidence-based tools and resources to support WHO normative products and facilitate their adaptation and utilization in programmes and policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical and scientific reference in comprehensive abortion care.
- Develop evidence-based tools and resources for comprehensive abortion care.
- Contribute to research priority setting and develop operational and strategic plans for research and development.
- Design and implement research, assessment, and training activities in comprehensive abortion care.
- Synthesize evidence, conduct systematic reviews, and provide technical input into guidelines.
- Provide guidance on scientific and technical matters to Member States and UN agencies.
- Prepare technical progress reports.
- Draft manuscripts for scientific publication and coordinate dissemination activities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to generate and use evidence for increased access to sexual and reproductive health and rights.
- Undertake fundraising activities.
Required Experience
- At least 7 years of international exposure in research or programme management focused on comprehensive abortion care, sexual and reproductive health and rights, including in low- and middle-income countries.
- At least 5 years of direct experience leading, designing, and coordinating either research or implementation projects on comprehensive abortion care.
- At least 5 years of experience in designing, developing, and delivering training and learning materials on comprehensive abortion care.
- Desirable: Working experience in a UN agency or an international non-governmental organization in low- and middle-income countries.
Qualifications
- Essential: Advanced university degree in public health, medicine, or midwifery or another field which includes specialized training related to sexual and reproductive health and rights.
- Desirable: Additional advanced specialized training in sexual and reproductive health.
