Overview
Support the UNV communications team by providing Jamaican Sign Language (JSL) interpretation during an online interview with a UN Volunteer who is deaf or hard of hearing. This role ensures accessibility and inclusion during the interview process.
Key Responsibilities
- Participating in a brief preparatory coordination meeting with the UNV communications team prior to the interview
- Providing real-time interpretation during the online interview session
- Supporting effective communication between the interviewee and the audiovisual communications specialist
- Ensuring clarity, accuracy, and inclusivity throughout the interaction
Required Experience
- Proficiency in Jamaican Sign Language (JSL)
- Ability to provide real-time interpretation in an online setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Availability to participate in a scheduled online session and prior coordination
