Overview
Support UNICEF Sri Lanka's social protection programming and evidence base through research and analysis of the social protection landscape and stakeholder mapping.
Key Responsibilities
- - Conduct structured desk reviews of relevant literature.
- - Develop an overview of Sri Lanka’s social protection system.
- - Analyze key system features, including coverage, adequacy, targeting, and delivery mechanisms.
- - Identify key gaps, bottlenecks, and system-level challenges.
- - Contribute to drafting the Social Protection Landscape Summary Note.
- - Identify and compile information on key stakeholders involved in social protection.
- - Map ongoing and planned social protection interventions.
- - Analyze stakeholder roles, thematic focus areas, geographic coverage, and comparative advantages.
- - Develop and maintain a Stakeholder Mapping Matrix.
- - Support synthesis by identifying partnership opportunities and areas for collaboration.
- - Align on research scope, structure, and analytical framework.
- - Participate in regular coordination and weekly check-ins.
- - Ensure consistency and alignment across outputs.
- - Contribute to identifying strategic entry points for UNICEF engagement.
- - Support the development of final outputs.
- - Support knowledge management for documents, datasets, and references.
Required Experience
- - Experience in conducting desk research, literature reviews, or policy analysis is required.
- - Familiarity with social protection, poverty analysis, or public policy is an asset.
- - Experience in stakeholder mapping or development partner analysis is an advantage.
- - Knowledge of Sri Lanka or Asia context is desirable.
Qualifications
- - An advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in social policy, economics, public policy, development studies, or a related field is highly desirable.
- - A university degree in a relevant field with demonstrated research experience may also be considered.
