Overview
The volunteer will provide technical and operational support to intersectoral initiatives implemented by the Adolescent Development, Participation and Youth (ADAP/AYP) team, in coordination with multiple programmatic areas. The role will support the design, implementation, and coordination of activities within the framework of UNICEF's Adolescents Network, the Mental Health Program, the Fix My Food initiative, the implementation of the ADAP/AYP approach in emergency response, as well as environmental participation programs and events.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the ADAP/AYP Officer in the implementation and achievement of program objectives in prioritized territories.
- Support the coordination and strengthening of the National Participation Network “Adolescents in Movement for their Rights”, including alliance management to achieve project results.
- Provide technical assistance to national and territorial partners for the design and implementation of initiatives that promote adolescent leadership, participation, and life skills in development and humanitarian contexts.
- Support intersectoral coordination within UNICEF and with partners to advance adolescent development outcomes.
- Support the implementation of adolescent participation and advocacy processes, including the Fix My Food strategy, environmental initiatives, mental health processes, and territorial participation efforts.
- Support the strengthening of adolescent and youth platforms and networks in prioritized territories, ensuring the inclusion of adolescent perspectives in programs and projects.
- Support field implementation, monitoring, risk identification, and the preparation of technical and management reports, as required.
- Perform any other task required or assigned by the supervisor.
Required Experience
- At least 1 year of demonstrated experience as a volunteer and/or in community participation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; cultural and social sensitivity; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a variety of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations.
- Self-motivation and professional adaptability in a challenging environment, as well as the ability to work effectively in a multicultural team composed of international and national staff.
- Advanced digital competencies to carry out the assignment, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, among others), email, and internet.
