Overview

Support the Public Information and Outreach Section of the Registry in its mission to make Court proceedings accessible to the public, raise awareness, and promote understanding of the Court’s mandate and activities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support for major projects in the communications team such as developing the ICC’s Youth and Academic programs, virtual visits, exhibits and multimedia story series on a range of topics including the legal process, e-Court system, working at the Court and stories from the field, and social media campaigns on various themes such as SDG16: Peace and Justice.
  • Monitoring media and formatting the ICC Daily Press Review, featuring news articles relevant to developments in the ICC’s situation countries, as well as media coverage of the Court’s activities and proceedings (in English and French)
  • Monitoring social media and support with compiling reports
  • Support new website/social media projects, assisting in designing infographics and visuals and/or or drafting content
  • Assist with photography projects including researching, identifying and proposing use of external photography, compiling selected photos for specific themes and projects, assist in securing permission to use external photographs
  • Assist with video projects including drafting scripts and storyboards, capturing relevant clips for social media, uploading archive of videos onto our server and ad hoc support for social media and campaign videos
  • Help maintain the Public Affairs Unit mailing list and contacts database/networking system
  • Assisting journalists at the Court’s Information Desk during key public hearings, providing them with badges to access the media centre and other practical information
  • Escorting visitors and arranging meetings when necessary
  • Take notes at specific meetings
  • Provide other assistance as requested
Required Experience

Candidates for a Visiting Professional placement must have at least 3 (three) years of relevant professional experience.

Qualifications

All Candidates must have a degree from a recognized university. Candidates are expected to have a very good record of academic performance.

Languages Required
Proficiency in one of the working languages of the Court, French or English, is required.
Languages Preferred
Working knowledge of the other is considered an asset. Knowledge of another official language of the Court (Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.

Remuneration
Please note that internship and visiting professional placements at the ICC are unfunded. The ICC is not able to provide participants in the Internship and Visiting Professional Programme with any remuneration, nor is it possible to provide reimbursement for expenses incurred prior, during or after the internship or visiting professional placement. Applicants must therefore be able to support themselves for the entire duration of their internship or visiting professional placement.
