Overview

The Secretariat (SASP) provides administrative and technical assistance to the Assembly and its Bureau and subsidiary bodies. The incumbent will support the team by conducting legal research and analysis, contributing to the preparation of legal advice, studies, and documentation.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the team by conducting legal research and analysis, contributing to the preparation of legal advice, studies, and documentation.
  • Take notes during meetings and assist in the preparation of reports of meetings of the subsidiary bodies of the Assembly, i.e. summarize discussions, highlighting key points and various perspectives for further analysis.
  • Assist in drafting and editing correspondence, letters, and notes, ensuring that all relevant information is accurately included and clearly presented.
  • Provide support with various ad hoc tasks as requested, offering general assistance to the legal team as needed.
Required Experience

Practical experience that is relevant to the work of the Court may be considered an asset. Applicants must have less than three years of relevant full-time professional experience to be considered for an internship.

Qualifications

A first level university degree from an accredited university in law, preferably with specialization in international or humanitarian law, or be in the final stages of their relevant studies. Candidates are expected to have a very good record of academic performance.

Languages Required
Proficiency in one of the working languages of the Court, French or English, is required.
Languages Preferred
Working knowledge of the other working language (French or English) is desirable. Knowledge of another official language of the Court (Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Spanish) would be considered an asset.

Remuneration
Internship placements at the ICC are unfunded. The ICC is not able to provide participants in the Internship and Visiting Professional Programme with any remuneration, nor is it possible to provide reimbursement for expenses incurred prior, during or after the internship or visiting professional placement.
