Overview

Internship opportunity within the Public Information and Outreach Section of the Registry, focusing on media monitoring, website and social media support, and general assistance to promote understanding of the Court’s mandate and activities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Monitoring media and formatting the ICC Daily Press Review.
  • Monitoring social media.
  • Support new website/social media projects, assisting in designing infographics and visuals.
  • Assist with photography projects including inserting metadata, compiling selected photos for specific themes and projects, assist in securing permission to use external photographs.
  • Assist with uploading archive of videos onto our server and insert metadata into photographs.
  • Help maintain the Public Affairs Unit mailing list.
  • Assisting journalists at the Court’s Information Desk during key public hearings.
  • Escorting visitors and arranging meetings when necessary.
  • Take notes at specific meetings.
  • Perform background research.
  • Provide other assistance as requested.
Required Experience

Practical experience is not an essential prerequisite for selection. Should there be a practical experience that is relevant to the work of the Court, it may be considered an asset. Applicants must have less than three years of relevant full-time professional experience to be considered for an internship.

Qualifications

All Candidates must have a degree from or be in the final stages of their studies at a recognized university. Candidates are expected to have a very good record of academic performance.

Languages Required
Proficiency in one of the working languages of the Court, French or English, is required.
Languages Preferred
Working knowledge of the other working language (French or English) is considered an asset. Knowledge of another official language of the Court (Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.
Contract Duration
Interns are required to work full time for a period between three and six months (to be agreed to prior to commencement). Internship placements shall not be extended beyond six months.

Remuneration
Internship placements at the ICC are unfunded. The ICC is not able to provide participants in the Internship and Visiting Professional Programme with any remuneration, nor is it possible to provide reimbursement for expenses incurred prior, during or after the internship or visiting professional placement. Applicants must therefore be able to support themselves for the entire duration of their internship or visiting professional placement.
